::: SYNOPSIS :::
Scripted by Vincent O'Connell, Happiness Is Easy is a dark political thriller cast from the same mould as Edge Of Darkness, that examines the very nature of human sorrow and joy in a world of dispassionate corporate greed. A joint production between Hotshot Films and BBC Regional Drama, Happiness Is Easy is a four-part series that hopes to shoot late 2007.

Shelley and her boyfirend of five years, Richard, have an idyllic relationship: a nice home, good friends and successful careers. Marriage could be on the cards for them and perhaps, one day, kids. But one Sunday morning Shelley's whole life is turned upside-down when Richard, without a hint of premeditation, throws himself to his death in front of an oncoming train. The death of her beloved is just the beginning of the nightmare, as Shelley slowly begins to unravel a dark conspiracy involving a giant pharmaceutical company and an insidious new drug that promises euphoria, but delivers nothing but despair and death.
